Looking to make bag straps out of fabric?
Here's how i do it...
Firstly use a tape measure to work out how wide and long you want your finished straps.
Double the width and add another 1" to the total this allows to 0.5" seam allowance. Add 1" to the length
CUT however many straps you need. I like to use a rotary cutter for this as you will get a straight and even accurate cut.
(TOP TIP - Be sure to follow width or length grain line to ensure no stretching)
FOLD right sides together long ways
SEW down longest raw edge using 1/2" seam allowance.
PRESS seam open
TURN right sides out (Top Tip - use a large safety pin to drag the fabric right way out.
ROLL the seam out to the edge, PRESS and TOP STITCH
I like to increase the size of my stitch for top stitching
Your straps are now ready to use...
