Need a made to measure gift bag? Let me show you my favourite technique.
In the photos I am using a sweet festive fabric fat quarter and sparkly ribbon, but your fabric could be for any occasion.

The size of fabric you need depends on the gift you wish to give but we will be folding the fabric in half to make the two sides.
STEP 1
CUT a rectangle
FOLD up in half
PIN/NOTCH a gap on one or both sides approx 2"
STEP 2
SEW down each side leaving the gap between pins alone.
TOP TIP - Back stitch when starting all and ending all seams!
STEP 3
PRESS open seam allowances
STEP 4
FOLD top open edge inwards and down by approx 0.5cm
FOLD top edge again until the gap you left forms a neat opening
STEP 5
TOPSTITCH top folded edge all the way round
(TOP TIP - Take off the sewing arm on your machine if possible)
TURN your bag right way through
STEP 6
GRAB your ribbon tape
THREAD ribbon through the drawstring channel you just created
AND YOU ARE DONE!
Now FILL with lovely gifts
You can customise this pattern in SO MANY ways by changing the size, lining the bag or adding Applique lettering!
