A really handy storage bag for your Bobby bunting. Designed to keep your flags safe and clean whilst not in use, also a lovely gift bag if your bunting is a pressie! The template for this bag is available with the Bobby bunting pattern in my Etsy shop.
Choose Small or Large depending the size you chose for your flags.
Here’s what you’ll need to make the bag:
- Fabric (outer bag and lining bag)
- 50cm Bias binding or tape for ties
- Needle or sewing machine
Sew 2 outer pieces eight sides together leaving top edge open
Repeat the lining pieces leaving 3cm gap low in the side seam.
Clip corners and PRESS seams open as much as possible.
TURN lining bag right side out and insert into outer bag matching side seams and top edges together.
Ribbon tie – Cut 50cm ribbon in 2
INSERT 1 piece of ribbon into top edge of either side at center mark.
SEW around whole top edge.
Pull bag through hole in lining
Discreetly close hole in lining with a 2mm top stitch.
Top Stitch top edge (with the sample I pulled a little of the lining up so that you can see the contrasting lining colours).
Now pop your bunting into its new bag.
Samples shown in this tutorial were made using Bear Essentials cotton from PB Textiles and bias tape for the ties.
